OREM, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – An African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. The public is invited to engage and celebrate the African spirit together on Saturday August 6 in Orem during the African Heritage Festival. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Orchard at University Place in Orem.
The 2022 African Heritage Festival is an annual cultural celebration aimed at showcasing African cultures and showcasing the diversity, traditions and values of the African continent through storytelling, music, dance, poetry, l arts and crafts. It is free for the general public. You can support local businesses and entrepreneurs featuring vendors in food, fashion, beauty, wellness, design, arts, crafts and more.
Ngoma y’Africa Cultural Center (NACC) is a non-profit organization established in 2016. NACC is dedicated to teaching African culture to the community by engaging individuals of all ages in various classes and workshops on history, languages, African dance and percussion. The organization showcases the beauty of African arts and crafts, organizing stage performances, festivals and events at conference centers, and presenting at school assemblies, churches, businesses, weddings and celebrations such as Black History Month, Kwanzaa, etc. .
The African Heritage Festival aims to promote the Ubuntu spirit in the Utah community.
