To eat May 17, 2022
If you’ve ever wanted to dine next to exotic animals, there are several restaurants at the Houston Zoo in Texas where you can do so. One of them is Twiga Café, a casual restaurant overlooking the habitats of giraffes and hippos. The food is delicious, but the view is even better!
If you want more restaurants in Texas, be sure to sign up for our weekly restaurant newsletter. Every Thursday, a new restaurant to try in the Lone Star State will be delivered directly to your email. Yum!
It takes a bit of walking to see all the exhibits in one day, so you’ll need to refuel often to keep your energy up.

One of the most popular dining options is Twiga Café, which serves classic fare like burgers, salads, pizza, and snacks like trail mix and fresh fruit.

The restaurant is directly across from the giraffe and rhino habitats, so you watch the gentle giants while you eat.

This takes the phrase “dinner and show” to a whole new level.

Something to reconnect with nature.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
